Sweet Baby Elephant Playing With Straw Roof

Being playful isn’t just unique to humans, elephants have an incredibly lighthearted,
playful side too! Playfulness in elephants is even significantly linked to leadership traits, as play trains their young bodies and develops necessary survival skills and reflexes.
Elephant Nature Park is a rescue and rehabilitation center in Northern Thailand that is devoted to saving elephants in need. When staff at Elephant Nature Park was repairing the straw roof of their skywalk, they stored pieces of it on the ground below. Little did they know baby elephant Dok Rak would stumble upon the stash of straw and proceed to have a ball playing with it! Younger elephants like baby Dok Rak are known to play the most, but just like us, they each play in different ways and retain a sense of humor into their old age. These beautiful, intelligent, and emotionally complexcreatures are more like us than we think!
