Essential workers and healthcare workers are really fighting the pandemic head
on. Essential workers ensure that our lives can go on and that everything doesn’t just shut down, while healthcare workers are literally saving lives. We all need some extra love and positivity during these times, but they especially need people to do their part and step up. Well, a therapy dog and her human are going above and beyond for them!
Dogtor Loki is a Rottweiler and beloved therapy dog. Her human is a medical student, so they were already a big help to hospitals. Thanks to donations, they are receiving on Loki’s popular Instagram page, they have been able to put together over 1,400 kits.
Initially, they really wanted to help hospital staff with PPE irritation, so they were collecting and donating moisturizers, chapstick, vaseline, and more. But they’ve also been able to include snacks and photos of Loki in the kits for some smiles!
Before the pandemic, Loki came in as a therapy dog at the University of Maryland Medical Center to comfort patients, but since therapy dogs cannot come into hospitals anymore, they are helping in a different, creative way!
