2 White Giraffes

A fascinating sighting of two white Reticulated giraffes has been captured on camera in a
conservation area in Kenya. The two giraffes, an adult female and a calf, were filmed by the Hirola Conservation Programme (HCP), a Rainforest Trust partner in the country. The animals were seen in the region where Rainforest Trust and HCP are protectinghabitat for the critically endangered Hirola – “the world’s most threatened” antelope.
News about a white baby giraffe and the calf’s mother started to reach the HCP in early June 2017 and, since then, the two giraffes have been sighted repeatedly in the Hirola range, the HCP blog reports. Sightings of white giraffes, in general, have increased in the past few years. According to the organization, the exciting sightings have become so common in the Hirola’s geographic range that the local communities, especially within the conservancies, have been participating in reporting them.
